This demo left me smiling. I know one tune, a traditional American tune called "Angeline the Baker" which is based on a 5 note scale (pentatonic) - it always feels primitive, in the best sense of that word, when played. Here 'tis as played on the mandolin http://bit.ly/jQfLU.
